The Bucs and free agency.

Just a quick tidbit here. With free agency approaching in the NFL we are only going to be speculating on real possibilities or reputable rumors. Every year in the Gruden era the Bucs are linked to nearly every free agent regardless of position and every trade possibility no matter how unlikely (I know  I [...]

Boyle may be moved.

Sources are telling the New York Post that if the Lightning can’t find a suitable trade partner for Brad Richards than the Lightning may be forced to move Dan Boyle. It’s no secret that the Bolts are shopping Richards but he has a no-trade clause and needs to waive it in order for anything [...]

Magic talking to Knicks.

The Orlando Magic are talking to the Knicks about moving one of their backup point guards Keyon Dooling or Carlos Arroyo. According to the New York Post the Magic are in a stalemate regarding these talks but Mr. Magic Brian Schmitz says that when he spoke to GM Otis Smith he was told that [...]

Lukowich out 4 weeks.

Bolts defenseman Brad Lukowich is going to miss 4 weeks after he undergoes surgery Friday for a sports hernia. Lukowich is one of the teams better defenseman and biggest hitters. This is a big blow to the Lightning who struggle on defense as it is. Luk will have the surgery performed in Munich, Germany [...]

Spurs acquire Thomas.

Looks like the Spurs swooped in and snagged Kurt Thomas away from the Magic. Not that it was anything set in stone but this is someone I thought the Magic had a shot at who actually made sense for the team. The Spurs netted Thomas for G Bret Barry, C Francisco Elson and a [...]

Magic lock up Southeast, well…

According to our buddy Brian Schmitz over at the Magic Basketblog he seems to believe the magic have all but sewn up the Southeast Division. I tend to agree with this but as he referred to the Mets collapse lets keep this quiet. God forbid the players should find out they don’t need to play [...]

Baldelli makes it through first full practice.

Rocco Baldelli made it through his first full practice today and said “he felt great”. Well I’m glad he feels good but at this point I think our skepticism is healthier than his body and it will take him a while to overcome that. I love Rocco but please take it easy there. maybe [...]

Ripken working with Rays?

According to WZVN TV Cal Ripken is involved with the purchase of the Port Charlotte Class-A team the Rays are hoping to move from Vero Beach. I’d like to see Cal involved with the team any way possible which would add to the legitimacy of the Rays organization.

Coleman likes Bucs.

Speculation is rising that the soon to be free agent Rod Coleman is interested in joining the Bucs. According to our friends over at the Bucs Report on TBO.com Rod Coleman spent the morning on Sirius satellite radio gushing over the Bucs and their chances of returning to the super bowl sometime soon. Apparently [...]

David Price excited at possibility of joining rotation.

Just a quick tidbit here. David Price did an email interview with Tyler Hissey over at scout.com yesterday. It’s nice to see these guys finally looking forward to being a Ray! Price seems like a good kid with a good head on his shoulders. There’s no questioning his talent or ability here, yet I’m [...]

Paris Warren re-upped by Bucs.

Paris warren was resigned by the Bucs today for a reported 1 year deal worth $510,000. This is not a shocker as Warren was an exclusive rights free agent who could only negotiate with the Bucs before the free agency period began on Feb.29th. Warren was slated to be a key offensive weapon for [...]

Gransbury gets weekly honor roll spot.

In other USF basketball news senior C Kentrell Gransbury has earned a spot on the weekly Big East honor roll as he averaged 24.5 points and 12 rebounds in last weeks two games. Gransbury has been solid for the Bulls this year and continues to step up in big games. Congrats Kentrell, you earned [...]

Freshman guard Dominique Jones Big East rookie of the week.

Dominique Jones was named Big East rookie of the week Monday for the third time this year. Jones averaged 22.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in two games last weel. Jones big game was the 89-78 win verse Syracuse in which he scored 29 points and hit 10 consecutive free throws in the [...]

Magic interested in Kurt Thomas?

According to Gary Washburn with the Seattle Post Intelligencer the Magic may be interested in acquiring veteran C/PF Kurt Thomas. Thomas, who apparantely is happy in Seattle, is looking at a reduced role with Robert Swift slated to get more playing time and may be moved. The big trade chips in the NBA are [...]

Rays renew trip to Orlando.

The Rays are going back to Orlando to play another 3 game series, this time to play the Toronto Blue Jays. Hopefully last years trip can repeat itself as the Rays swept the Texas Rangers in their series. If they can repeat this time it’s against a fellow A.L. East opponent and helps gain [...]

Howard wins dunk contest.

Dwight Howard is a freak of nature. Did anyone else watch this contest? That’s the first dunk contest I’ve actually watched in the last 20 years. I thought everything had been done but I was wrong! Howard’s athletic ability for a guy his size is unbelievable. I thought the superman dunk (throw in) was [...]

Weekend posts.

I apologize for the lack of posts over the weekend. We had a little technical difficulties that slowed things down a little. We’ll do some catching up and get back on track over the next few days.

Shockey to Bucs?

There are rumors flying all around the internet (nice story over at www.bucem.com) that TE Jeremy Shockey may be headed to the Bucs either by trade or that the Giants will cut him and he’ll come in as a free agent. I’m not sure what to think about this yet. Watching the Giants play and [...]

Howard bounces back from Van Gundy bashing.

Orlando Magic star center Dwight Howard and head coach Stan Van Gundy clashed towards the end of the Magic’s loss to the Cavs on Monday night. This resulted in Van Gundy benching him for 2 minutes in the 4th quarter and blasting Howard after the game saying “his focus isn’t where it should be”. Howard responded [...]

Bucs quarterbacks fun!

Please tell me this is some sort of joke but it looks like Gruden’s annual quarterback shopping spree is already beginning. Rumors are already swirling about Daunte Culpepper, Rex Grossman, Brian Griese (again) or any other QB with a still functioning arm and legs. This CANT be serious. If we sign another QB with Luke [...]
