The frustrating season for the Bolts continues and the game last night definitely had some interesting highlights.

  •    Since coming over in the trade for Brad Richards, G Mike Smith has looked pretty inconsistent. You can see watching him he does have the skill and I’m the first one to knock the Bolts defense but Smith is getting a great opportunity and needs to really lock the position down. There’s alot of pressure on Smith to perform considering what we gave up to acquire him and despite their record this team is not far from competing for the Cup again so he definitely needs to respond now.
  •    Defenseman Andre Roy will be finding himself in the Torts doghouse again shortly. Roy fought with Philly’s Riley Cote twice last night, the second time Roy is complaining Cote shouldn’t have started, and after getting whooped in the second fight started running his mouth and making gestures from the bench. Roy was benched last month for mouthing off from the bench after a fight with Florida’s Bransislav Mezei. This time he made the infamous throat slash at Cote which may draw attention from the league as well as Torts. We’ll see what happens now.
