Nothing new here. I just wanted to rehash something that was brought up on the Ron and Ian showyesterday where it does seem that no one seems to be in a hurry to come play for Jon Gruden much less defend his antics. I completely agree with these statements and I hope Gruden has taken notice as well. I think Gruden did progress last year as far as player relations goes. Hopefully for his and the teams sake this trend continues. I’m not going to say we need to run him out of town as there’s not much out there to replace him (Bill Cowher maybe) and I do think he knows X’s and O’s, but he definitely needs to work on his people skills. The one thing Gruden and Allen do that doesn’t seem to be changing at all is the handling of assistant coaches. When an assistant coach has a chance to move his career forward and get a promotion elsewhere that your organization can’t or won’t give, you let the man move on! It seems pretty petty to me to make a guy stay in a lessor position for your benefit and make them miss an opportunity. That doesn’t bode well for hiring new coaches when those coaches you hold down finally do get to leave. Loosen up fellas!
