Lightning report-Lecavalier, Mike Smith shutout.

A couple notes from the Bolts over the weekend….

Mike Smith pitched his first shutout for the Lightning over the weekend. It was a 3-0 victory over the Rangers at home and the defense looked great! This is the point I’ve been making with the Bolts and their goalies. If the defense plays better [...]

Rays report- Weekend wrap-up, Kazmir headed to DL?

The Rays won all their games over the weekend (including a ‘nice’ game with the yanks). I sincerely hope this trend continues into the regular season as the Rays aren’t stranding runners, getting decent pitching and playing great defense. Anyway there are some things to watch.

According to the Rays official site Scott Kazmir [...]

Bucs report

There’s not a whole lot to report on in Bucs land but….

The Bucs have officially signed S/CB Eugene Wilson. The deal is for one year and $1.8 million with $500,000 in guaranteed money. The St. Pete Times is saying that Wilson will be a nickel CB as most thought.
Rick Stroud at the Times [...]

Rays report

The Rays got their game in today contrary to initial reports. Some notes from the game and the league.

The Rays won their game today 8-4 in a rain lengthened contest that saw Evan Longoria hit his second homer of the spring.
Disciplinary action has been handed down (you can read in depth over [...]

Fedor vs. Randy may happen!!!!

First I want to give a thanks to MMAChiq for the heads up on this.
Sources close to negotiations between the UFC and Fedor’s management have informed MMAFightline. com that the two sides are currently discussing a possible one fight deal that would bring Fedor to the cage, presumably to face Randy Couture.
It is unknown whether [...]

Rays report

There are some non-brawl things to talk about for the Rays as they play the Red Sox in Fort Myers.

According to multiple sources Scott Kazmir has been throwing well and is scheduled to start Sunday against the Tigers in his first Spring action.
Also Rocco Baldelli came out and said he’s suffering from [...]

Bucs report

   There’s a couple things for the Bucs…

According to pewterreport.comfree-agent wide receiver D.J. Hackett is visiting One Buc Place today. I guess if we sign enough injury riddled formerly productive players we’ll get something in return.
A couple notes from Rick Stroud at the St. Pete Times show that the Bucs officially lost Kalvin [...]

Lightning report

The Bolts won Tuesday night in a crazy game with the Islanders 8-4, a game in which Vinny Lecavalier hat a hat-trick. Catching up on things a little there are a couple piece’s by Damian Cristodero.

One piece Damian wrote was about Karri Ramo’s willingness to fight for his job.
In a piece this morning [...]

Magic report

The Magic won their game against the Clippers at home last night 110-88. Bad news is Dwight Howard appeared to hurt his leg and left the game early. Strangely enough there are no reports as to whats wrong with him out there yet, what?! I know watching the game last night, and anytime I [...]

The brawl

As we expected it got ugly yesterday. In the first inning Yankee pitcher Heath Phillips hit touted prospect Evan Longoria with a pitch (actually he grazed his shirt) and started the ball rolling with what seemed to be a non-intentional beaning. Phillips was ejected and Girardi argued for his player. The fireworks started with Yankees [...]

Free MMA on Proelite.com Saturday

This Saturday on Proelite.com you can see “Icon: Baroni vs Hose” for free. The main event should be an all out brawl as both guys are heavy handed with K.O. power
Baroni, a former UFC and PRIDE fighter, will make his ICON debut at the show. The 31-year-old hasn’t fought since a loss to Frank Shamrock in [...]

Girardi bashing

I find it humorous that Joe Girardi spoke up so soon on what seemed to be a regular play at the plate on Saturday. In the aftermath of what happened and what was said it looks like everyone is piling on Joe Girardi. Good! In our Saturday post we talked about Girardi running his mouth [...]

Rays report

A couple things for the Rays…

The Rays won today 7-1 over the Minnesota Twins with what Marc Lancaster called a skeleton crew. Shields pitched well, Longoria homered and all went well for the Rays on the field today.
In player news DRaysBay is reporting the Rays still may be interested in free agent outfielder Kenny [...]

Marinelli catching heat in Detroit

I know its not directly Buc related but according to Stephen Holder of the St. Pete Times the Lions are being questioned for bringing in formers Bucs. In an article by Rob Parker, who Holder says is his buddy, Parker is giving Lions head coach Rod Marinelli and defensive coordinator Joe Barry (both former Buc [...]

Site updates.

As I’ve mentioned before we are currently working on the site and have recently hired on a company to do some graphics work and layout changes. You will see a whole new appearance within the next few weeks. Also we’ve finally got some MMA input in with more on the way from Brian Heath [...]

Magic report

Again there’s little new to report on with the Magic. As when I was writing last night the Magic completed their thrashing of the Hawks, despite a late rally, to the tune of a 123-112 win which was not near as close as it looked. The only real thing out there today for you [...]

MMA Intro

Today I’m going to talk a little bit about one of the top three MMA camps in the country. While the main camp is not located in Tampa they do have a facility in Orlando, but the main camp resides in Coconut Creek. If you are serious about getting into MMA and you live [...]

Magic report

Nothing really out of the ordinary to report with the Magic today except for the fact they are currently pummeling the Atlanta Hawks 67-49. Oh, in a shocking development I just heard that J.J. Reddick wasn’t in uniform tonight. What will they do without him?

Lightning report

Not a whole lot for the Bolts but here’s what I found today….

The team has sent defenseman Andre Roy home. It appears the Bolts have suspended Roy for a week with pay after his emotional outburst last week. It’s been talked about now that the problem was not necessarily Roy exploding on the bench, [...]
