The Bucs have a busy week ahead of them with the draft less than two weeks away. They’re bringing in all types of hyped up potential draft picks. Just to make things clear for everyone I will report on the draft itself when picks are made and will continue to cover what actually happens. To make it clear, don’t expect any sort of mock draft or any speculation to their draft picks from me. I enjoy the draft and the promise of future stars as much as anyone else, I just don’t like trying to predict athletes and coaches in this way. The systems in the NFL are so schematic and players that would be great here won’t be there and so on. It’s not predicting the athlete, it’s predicting the coaches thought process. Does anyone here really want to try and guess what Gruden and Allen are thinking? I don’t. I’ll cover the draft, not the predraft hype. The other question I seem to be getting alot right now is ‘why no coverage of Al Reyes or Cato June getting arrested?’ I will simply respond to that by saying that guys make mistakes. I have no problem ripping someone like Jeramy Stevens who goes out and has multiple felony offenses. I’m not going to jump on guys who seem to make minor mistakes. I’m not saying dui’s or barfights are cool or don’t require punishment, they don’t require every person to jump on them though. Reyes seems to be a guy in the wrong place at the wrong time and Cato June was recently cleared. Why bang the drum? Believe me I’ll hop on someone when they do something bad but I think most people that follow sports have been a scuffle at a bar, I know I’ve had more than I can count. Therefore I will be leaving these cases alone. Anyway off to the Rays game, hope they stomp the Yanks!
