Tonight’s the night baby! I’ve been waiting for this one for a while now and it’s finally here. The Calzaghe vs. Hopkins fight is on HBO tonight at 9:45 pm and is not a pay-per-view event. Boxing needs more events like this and needs to stop with the pay-per-views in order to catch up with the MMA phenomenon. This fight should be a barn-burner and I can’t see any way the fight itself disappoints. Both fighters are aggressive and looking to cap off their careers with bang. This is Calzaghe’s first fight in the U.S. and has been very arrogant in his stance of not coming to fight here prior. The crowd will be pro Hopkins and it will be interesting to see how this effects Calzaghe as he has always had the crowd on his side fighting abroad. I’m going to go out on a limb here and go with the underdog in Hopkins even though he’s older and less polished than Calzaghe. I think B-Hop will feed off the crowd and knock him out in the 10th round. This is a hard fight to break down but it’s gonna be a good one. Don’t miss it!
