It’s not really a shocker if you think about how the Bolts have started the season. They’ve had a huge turnover everywhere in the organization. New coach, new ownership and management, new players, etc.. It’s been nice to see them shaking it all of fairly quick though. After going winless in their first five games (two of which were in Prague), they have gotten even in the standings by winning three of their last four for a 3-3-3 record. I haven’t been able to watch to much of them yet to make any real judgements but it appears that the goaltending has improved, the defense is still a work in progress and the offense hasn’t come together yet either. The only thing I can figure at the moment is that Barry Melrose and company are still trying to find the right pieces to fill out the team. The most important thing for The Mullet is to get the guys to buy into what he’s selling and the few early moves we’ve seen make me think he’s still trying to find the right pieces. I’ll be sitting down to watch some of the Bolts’ games that I’ve recorded to try to get a beat on the direction this team is headed. I’m still skeptical of Melrose but look at what Maddon accomplished with the Rays and you can see that anything is possible.

You’ve heard this before, I know, but I’m back for good this time. This site has been a huge learning experience for me. So many people out there read all these blogs and think that it’s easy or mindless and they think to themselves, “I can do that”. Well I’ll be the first to tell you, you’re wrong. This is real work and it’s much harder than you would ever think. I started this site back in February of this year thinking I could cover all the sports I love and it wouldn’t be that hard. Oops! I love writing and I still love all the sports and teams I intended to cover, but if you don’t have the daily time and energy to do this, you shouldn’t. I’ve gotten on here and run my mouth and it’s been fun to do, but I didn’t realize what a daily activity this is. I now have that much more respect for those who do this regularly (especially Cork Gaines from Rays Indexand Greg Auman from the USF Bulletin for the support they’ve given) and will never take it lightly again. I thought about shutting it down but, I received so much love in the emails (which was shocking since I don’t have a regular email link) I feltit necessary to keep going. I have since reformatted the site to drop coverage of the Bulls, MMA and Boxing. This is not to say that I will not have anything to say on these subjects, but they will not be featured coverage any longer. As far as everything else goes, there will be consistent posts daily within the covered content. I will be putting together posts on all of the teams wrapping up briefly what I’ve missed and will keep up with them from this point on. Thanks to everyone for the support you have showed and please let me know what you think of all this, including the new layout in the comments of this post.

Drunk rambling here, but I have to say that one thing that’s completely off the subject of sports. The Wire was the greatest show ever on TV! I’m watching it now and I’m watching as if I’ve never seen it before. For those that understand, it’s not just about gangster shit, it’s smart, real and puts what’s real in perspective. Best show ever! Those that know get the title of this post.

I realize what an awful time this is for my first post back but I had to write something. I want to say a couple quick things about the Rays in the series and the playoffs in general. They showed tremendous heart and fortitude throughout and played way above their heads. I have been in awe of this team all year and I’m more proud of them than I ever thought I would be at this moment. Whether they get back to the series or not, they have made me proud of their accomplishments this year and that’s something I’ll always remember this as a dream season. Now, to preface my second point I’m gonna sound like a homer whiner but, this looked like an impossible series for the Rays to win. They had to beat the Phillies and the UMPIRES! The shoebox strike zone that Kaz and Garza had to pitch to wasn’t questionable, it was disgustingly biased. Screw the missed calls on the bases and the other crap, no one could’ve pitched well enough to win with that strike zone and they still kept the games close. That was amazing to me! Now I would like to congratulate the Phillie TEAM and PLAYERS. Hats off to the TEAM that won, they deserve it, they earned it and I’m happy for THEM. I would now like to say, FUCK THE PHILLIE FANS! You are the worst people to walk the earth. I apologize to anyone with class who reads this site for the language that I have used to speak to the idiot fans from Filthadelphia, but it’s the only thing these jackasses understand. It’s one thing to root for your team and to give another team’s fans a hard time, hell I could understand a fight or two. But to call players wives whores and to throw things at children, you are pussy ass bitches! Fuck all you useless bags of shit, I will not cry if you burn yourselves up in the riot you’re about to have. Congrats on a great season Rays! I’ll be back on track tomorrow for some more rhetoric, but for now it’s time to get drunk and wallow in pity!

Just to let everyone know, I’m having site issues as you can see and my return will be delayed until it’s resolved. My new job has been settled and I finally have a schedule I can work around to get back on and run my mouth. I miss writing and judging from the emails (and comments from the skinny asshole with a pot belly) I am missed by some out there. There will be changes to the content and what not but I’ll get into that once the site problems are fixed. Thank you to everyone for your support!
